Look Around!

Did you know that more than half of the clergy in the ELCA are eligible for retirement in the next ten years? These pastors were part of congregations who nurtured them from the ground up. They made promises at their baptisms, saw to their education in the Christian faith, provided significant opportunities for worship and leadership, sent them to church camps, church colleges, and seminary. Their entire seminary education was paid for by the church. They was supported at every turn by an ecology - a coordinated system - of faithful people who believed that the world needed faithful leaders and believed they had gifts to be one.

Project Connect seeks to invigorate this same ecology today for the sake of helping young adults, ages 18-30, discern God’s call - to be pastors, yes, but also to be committed people of faith who are teaching and serving and offering their gifts in a variety of vocations. Look around. Who should you be encouraging? Find out more about how your congregation can be part of Project Connect. Contact The Rev. Louise Johnson at ljohnson@ltsp.edu or 215-428-6321.
